Introduction
The quality assurance policy of the postgraduate programme of the Department of Computer Science and Telecommunications is fully aligned with the Institution’s quality assurance policy. It focuses on the continuous improvement of the quality of the study programme, as well as its educational, research and administrative activities.
The policy is made publicly available on the MSc website and disseminated to all members involved, so that academic and administrative staff and students take responsibility for quality assurance in accordance with their respective roles.
The Department is committed to a quality policy that supports the academic character and orientation of the MSc, sets and monitors quality objectives, determines the means to achieve them, and implements internal and external quality procedures with the ultimate goal of continuous improvement.

The implementation of the quality policy requires the application of procedures that ensure the following objectives:

Postgraduate Studies Coordination Committee (P.S.C.C.)
Holds responsibility for monitoring and improving the quality of the MSc. Appointed by the General Assembly, with a three-year term and five faculty members. Exercises oversight, updates the curriculum, selects students, and supervises teaching staff.
Committee for Laboratory, Building & Network Infrastructure and Security
Oversees the Department’s infrastructure, records functional requirements for teaching and laboratory work, and ensures physical and cybersecurity of the Department.
Ethics Committee
Studies and advises the General Assembly on cases of misconduct, plagiarism, examination fraud, and related violations.
Committee for Public Relations, Website & Social Media
Organises the Department’s communications and promotion, maintains and updates the website and social media channels, coordinates events, and develops partnerships.
Department Research Committee
Works alongside the P.S.C.C. to promote research and engage postgraduate students in research projects. Circulates calls, scholarships, and collaboration opportunities.
Procedures
Within the framework of the annual evaluation, the P.S.C.C. applies the following regular monitoring and quality improvement procedures:
- Annual Awards — Recognition of the best lecturer and the two best students per academic year
- ETHAAE Quality Indicators — Collection and recording of quality indicators for the UG, PG, and PhD programmes
- Research Indicators — Recording of scientific achievements of Department members
- Annual Target-Setting — Quantified improvement targets for the following academic year
- Annual Review — Assessment of the degree to which annual targets have been achieved
- Semester Evaluation — Student evaluation report on courses and instructors at the end of each semester
- Performance Analysis — Collection of student performance data from examination periods each semester
- Improvement Proposals — Annual recommendations based on identified issues
- Monthly O.M.E.A. Meeting — Continuous monitoring of current matters
- Student Meetings — Biannual group meetings between students and Academic Advisors
